Statistical Origin of Black Hole Entropy in Induced Gravity
نویسنده
چکیده
The statistical-mechanical origin of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy SBH in the induced gravity is discussed. In the framework of the induced gravity models the Einstein action arises as the low energy limit of the effective action of quantum fields. The induced gravitational constant is determined by the masses of the heavy constituents. We established the explicit relation between statistical entropy of constituent fields and black hole entropy SBH . PACS number(s): 04.60.+n, 12.25.+e, 97.60.Lf, 11.10.Gh

The phase transition of corrected black hole with f(R) gravity
In this letter, we consider static black hole in f(R) gravity. We take advantage from corrected entropy and temperature and investigate such black hole. Finally, we study the $ P - V $ critically and phase transition of corrected black hole with respect to entropy and temperature. Here also, we obtain the heat capacity for the static black hole in $ f(R) $ gravity. This calculation help us...
متن کاملAlberta-Thy 10-97 Plenty of Nothing: Black Hole Entropy in Induced Gravity
We demonstrate how Sakharov’s idea of induced gravity allows one to explain the statistical-mechanical origin of the entropy of a black hole. According to this idea, gravity becomes dynamical as the result of quantum effects in the system of heavy constituents of the underlying theory. The black hole entropy is related to the properties of the vacuum in the induced gravity in the presence of th...

متن کاملThermal Fields, Entropy, and Black Holes
In this review we describe statistical mechanics of quantum systems in the presence of a Killing horizon and compare statistical-mechanical and one-loop contributions to black hole entropy. Studying these questions was motivated by attempts to explain the entropy of black holes as a statistical-mechanical entropy of quantum fields propagating near the black hole horizon. We provide an introduct...
متن کاملThe Origin of Black Hole Entropy in String Theory
I review some recent work in which the quantum states of string theory which are associated with certain black holes have been identified and counted. For large black holes, the number of states turns out to be precisely the exponential of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. This provides a statistical origin for black hole thermodynamics in the context of a potential quantum theory of gravity.
